Industrialization and rapid economic development have brought unprecedented changes in our physical and social environments. These changes have significant consequences on human health. For example, climate change enhanced by anthropogenic green house 瓦斯es is occurring and will continue to occur for decades to come. Climate change affects human health via a number of pathways. In this lecture, Prof. Zhang will describe and discuss these pathways. He will also discuss adaption strategies at the policy level and the individual level to minimize the adverse health impact of climate change.报告人简单介绍:Junfeng Zhang is a famous Professor of Global and Environmental Health at the Nicolas School of the Environment of 杜克 University. He graduated from Beijing University in 1985. He holds a faculty position at both 杜克Global Health Institute and Duke Kunshan University in China. He directs the Exposure Biology and Chemistry Laboratory at 杜克 University. He also directs the Regional Ozone Sino-US Collaborative Research Center. Professor Zhangs main research interests include assessing human exposures to environmental contaminants and resulting health effects; developing and validating biological markers of contaminant exposure; understanding reactions among complex mixtures of air pollutants and health implications; assessing health risks associated with household use of chemicals and combustion devices; analyzing impacts of household combustion sources on health, energy and greenhouse 瓦斯 contributions; developing methods for the measurement of trace-level toxic chemicals present in air, food, water, and dust. Dr. Zhang authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles, including those published in top medical journals and environmental sciences journals. His early work on characterizing sources of non-methane greenhouse 瓦斯es made him one of the officially recognized contributors to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to IPCC. He is the 二〇一三 recipient of the 杰罗姆 Wesolowski Award, the highest honor of the International Society of Exposure Science.
